Welcome to Hatherden Church of England Primary School
A message from the Headteacher
As from 1st September 2019, I am the new Headteacher of Hatherden CE Primary School. I am delighted to be starting in this exciting role and look forward to working with the team of staff and Governing Body.
I have already met some children and their parents and look forward to meeting every family. I value the small community which the school is part of, and the support provided by Rev Alex and members of Christ Church. Previously, I have experienced success as a Headteacher of a school which achieved outstanding grades under my tenure, the first for the county. In addition, I have been Deputy Head of three varied schools in London.
We are a Church of England school in more than just name and strive to show each other that we are God's gifts and are loved for who we are and how different we are.
Our School Vision
Through our values of Love, Courage and Fellowship, we offer you the security of being part of a faithful, loving community. Everyone is welcome to learn and question through the stories taught to us by Jesus. Our school family will support you in shaping the individual you choose to become.
Over the summer, the cleaning and site staff have been preparing classes, arranging repairs, painting and cleaning. As a result, the school is looking lovely. The Teachers and Teaching Assistants have begun displaying writing and artwork from this term, which allows us all to see progress and celebrate. Our admin team have made sure class lists are updated and systems are running smoothly.
The Friends of Hatherden (FOHS) have also been busy resurfacing the carpark. I look forward to working with the FOHS to fund raise in order to provide additional resources for the pupils.
Building on the fantastic whole school end of term show at The Lights, Andover in July 2019, this term we look forward to a residential trip. At the end of September, pupils in Key Stage 2 will be visiting an activity centre in Dorset. In Early Years, sixteen children have started in Ahlberg class and are exploring different learning areas, such as the mud kitchen, outside mark making and role play areas both in and out. The pupils in Key Stage 1 have been investigating new mathematical concepts and have shown courage, love and fellowship towards the younger children.
If you are moving into the area and are looking for a school place for your child, please contact either Mrs. Kitching or Mrs. O’Gadhra in the school office, who will arrange for me to meet you and take you around the school. (01264 735260, email:firstname.lastname@example.org)
Our open mornings, for prospective parents, have been confirmed as 26th September and 1st October. See the website for more information. Do come along and see us in action.
I look forward to the term ahead,
Mrs. L V Bracken
