Tuesday 25 January 2022 Forest School Blog - Monday 24th January 2022 At Forest School over the past few weeks we have had fun burying treasure and exploring map making. In preparation for the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch, we have been identifying our feathered friends, playing a game to learn about murmurations and making apple bird feeders to support our resident birds during the winter months. We have talked about how it feels to be hungry and appreciated how fortunate we are to have the food we are provided with. We are also preparing for fire lighting in a few weeks time. We have been learning about the types and sizes of wood we need to be successful. Next week we will be practising using the fire strikes and learning the rules to keep us all safe. We will learn how to tie a clove hitch knot and a square lashing to make a safe boundary in the fire pit area using branches.
